It's never quite a "normal" workday when the world is concerned with a new strain of virus affecting hundreds of thousands. Fortunately, there are numerous ways we can help keep our work environments under control.
Practice Good Hygiene
Do NOT shake hands with others.
Clean your hands upon entering and wash them regularly.
Avoid touching your face.
Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing.
Regularly disinfect surfaces such as door knobs, desks, handrails, etc.
Increase ventilation by opening windows or adjusting Air Conditioning.
Be Cautious When Attending Meetings and Traveling
Use videoconferencing for meetings, if and when possible.
Hold necessary meetings in open, well-ventilated areas.
Consider adjusting or postponing large gatherings.
Assess the risks of traveling.
Handle Food Carefully
Limit food sharing.
Consider Health Screenings for Staff and close contacts.
Ensure personnel practice strict hygiene.
Stay Home
Do NOT go to a populated office setting if you are feeling sick or are living with someone who is sick.
These tips can also be helpful in our daily routine, regardless of environment. Always remember to take the advice as we have from organizations like the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO). This has been labeled as a pandemic but like anything we have faced as a species, when we are united, we have shown that we can prevail. We have overcome many obstacles before and we will overcome this as well.
